Challenge

Blueoak Estates is a Northwest-based leading luxury home builder with a strong reputation for providing reliable, dependable and trustworthy services for clients.  Technology plays a key role in maintaining a positive client experience, making it vital that we delivered a comprehensive IT solution that would meet all of their needs.

Blueoak Estates also highlighted a need for employees to have access to core IT systems whilst working remotely, often within construction site environments where devices need to be rugged.

Solution

Since 2018, we have supported award-winning property development company, Blueoak Estates and during that time have worked closely with the team to evolve and improve their IT infrastructure and technology use.

Initially, we consulted with key members of the Blueoak Estates team and spent time reviewing and evaluating their current systems and IT requirements, before proposing and delivering a solution that was right for them and their needs.

This involved a full review and upgrade of their Wi-Fi network including the installation of new structured cabling at the firm’s Chester head office, to improve the overall reliability, coverage and clarity of systems.

We also assisted them in moving to a more secure, cloud-based storage system – SharePoint Online – and collaborated with the team on moving them to a Microsoft Office 365 subscription.

To allow employees to access their emails, files and important data whilst working from any of Blueoak Estates development sites across the North West, we introduced and integrated semi-rugged tablets that would allow mobile access to the core IT systems without effecting productivity, allowing the team to work effectively, from anywhere.

As part of our ongoing work, we supported the implementation of a Microsoft Azure-based application server environment, providing the flexibility benefits of a cloud-based management software solution, which was seamlessly integrated with the company’s accounting system. Additionally, we conducted a review of the firm’s current data protection capabilities using Microsoft 365’s GDPR toolkit, to ensure any response required to a GDPR-based enquiry could be satisfied efficiently.

We continue to advise and support Blueoak Estates and maintain their systems on a day-to-day basis with our Support team always on hand to help, whether that’s over the phone, via e-mail or in person as part of our on-going service review process.
