Challenge

Cutting edge manufacturing can be a complex world.

But when you combine UK-first manufacturing technology with outdated IT systems, top-of-the-line security requirements and multi-site locations, then that complexity really can reach a whole new level!

That’s the challenge we faced when we were commissioned by Alan Sheppard and the brilliant team at LCA Group just over six months ago.

LCA Group wanted the relocation of their manufacturing and project operations offices to a new facility in Hawarden to be as seamless as possible.

We were tasked with the unification of their complex and outdated IT systems from two sites into a new one; integrating new technology and ensuring innovative and modern IT infrastructure – as well as ongoing IT support – was embedded into their business.

Solution

We worked closely with LCA Group to understand their technology requirements and then:
• Integrated complex security and CCTV systems and linked up a £500,000 precision 3D laser machining centre.
• Designed and implemented a new technology platform as a foundation to their continuing manufacturing and site-base operations, whilst also providing foresight and scalability to accommodate the future growth of plans.
• Planned and installed structured cabling, provisioned a Cisco enterprise core network with managed wireless coverage throughput and Cisco perimeter security protection.
• Moved them onto highly secure cloud-based systems including data storage, email and security, and they were also equipped with the recently-launched Microsoft 365 Business solution software packages. Users can now access, manipulate and react to the data they need from wherever they need to work.
• Replaced outdated hardware with Dell micro-chassis PC’s, integrating LCA’s requirement for good value and reliability with the capability to perform high-end CAD tasks where required.
• Continue to provide ongoing technology support through Service Desk

Results
